Like Caitlin, Like Coltrane

They pull
an All-Lives Matter
when
Caitlin
enters
the building–
a ranger of hardwood floors
and 3-point lines

surveying
regulating
a different
field, adjusting her tan
brim

like sunlight
gently leans into
her eyes.

Past Legacies
perch in clouds’

bellies
with rifles
with tears
with admiration
knowing

she has arrived
to speak good news
to expose
how bottoms
of nets loudly
snap

when ball-rotation
is
tapped
into
a higher
frequency
like
Coltrane

blowing
Renaissance
