A Wild Kingdom Can’t Police Itself

Wild kingdom. American turmoil.
Culture is lit, deadly, bluesy, like

being one paycheck away from
poverty. M-1 spits urban sermons,

pulling back blankets on this
broken society. Chaos checks

the temperature. Eerie and balmy—
a deceptive heat in mid-July.

Tough talk. Smoke screens. Roll
of the dice. Hate bakes. Sunlight

leans. A shooter finds a home on
a rooftop, itching to mark his voice

with a trigger. This American
thing is unhealthy, an infected
body, trying to police itself.
