SURVIVING THE MACHINE

Interpret open wounds. Crash
for resistance. Leave behind

a wilting world, the hate, the
strange sounds that may be

freedom. The people can never
really tell. Still bluesy, like poor

attitudes are baked into broken
capitalism. Urban yawps climb

over neighborhood buildings,
trying to test limitations of a

decaying earth. Metal sings,
screeches. I shift energy, un-

loading burdens. This is how
you purify militance. Beauty.

I search for rhythm. Incessant
hustle circulates on skin. The

desire to celebrate self and
disconnect from the machine’s

hot breath is vital. A human
engine idling, stretching wings.
