Shape a Dream/ Apply Muscle

Woke up to this
morning hustle.

James Brown
screams them

proud-like riffs
to start another

day. The belly
of the machine

is funky and fatal.
Breathe after my

own fashion. I say
breathe after my

own fashion. To
gamble with sun-

light, like God
owes me a favor.

Like the Most High
clutches a black

steering wheel
and swerves

along bluesy
terrain. Earbuds

snake into ears
with Nipsey Hussle

preaching about
the change. The

flight plan has
to be solid, jazz-

like, and balancing
itself on the edges

of Democracy or
something like it.

Let me inhale metal,
like it’s natural. Let

me shape a dream
or apply muscle.
