Never Attach Breaths to Conformity

Hang a left on
Volvo Parkway.

This Chesapeake
thing got blues

in the veins,
swag in the

pockets. We
craft vibes,

weaving in and
out of traffic

patterns. Go
BIG or go home.

The route is
paved with

good intentions,
bones, and

scattered goals.
Don’t let your

flesh touch the
floor, they say.

Keep your head
on a swivel,

document where
the devil’s ilk

like to play,
dance, and jazz

it up. Be wary
of predators,

talking that
noise. Them

frequencies got
them colonizer

vibes. We crawl
from polluted

womb, shaking
dice, ready to

return favors.
The Proles got

a victory dance,
a brand-new

bag. Aim straight!
CLACK! Focus

on the corner
pocket, expose

our intentions,
mimic hustle

and Blackness.
We vanish into

urban maze,
down heavily

lit streets. Sun
smirks. This is

us, surfing city
life, living

free, without
boundaries,

dancing in
the beast.

Not saying
nothing. Not

really trying
to be like them

or the creatures
that attach

breaths to
conformity.
