SAY WHAT? (For Those Who Praise Slave Masters)

Go quietly into that Bad night.
Go quietly into the machine’s
rotten belly. Inhale its metallic
odor, funk. Allow the rhetoric
to irritate your skin. Take them
neoliberal diss tracks and ideas
and dance for the pigs who
know you well. A three piece
suit and a slick tongue don’t
change the roadblocks or
conditions on the ground. No.
Slave masters are not simply
flawed people. I survey a broken
program. Foul culture. Dead. No
genocide for me. No imperialism,
either. Slide into the daylight,
like a vampire, a day-walker.
Stop praising bullies, rapists,
and colonizers. This paradigm
is savage. America the Beautiful
is a polluted phrase–a simple
slogan for simple people.
